bus trip

My kid's friend just got here from the other side of the Oregon. The bus was an Hour late. The story was worth the wait. The kid was between "Ticking time bomb/silent hoodie guy" and a couple who were pushing the limits of PG-13 the whole trip. The driver had been doing that route every Sunday for a decade.

Our hero is eyes front trying to unsee as much as possible when they spotted a turkey on the side of the road. As the bus approached an odd thing happened. Yeah you guessed it...The turkey hauled it's ass up in front of the bus and got creamed.

It crushed the windshield and burst everything the beast had eaten all over the glass like a giant microscope slide. In that moment a tribe formed. They own a shared expierience together. It's heart warming like a soup commercial. "Cream of turkey brings people together momentarily". I was gonna post the pic the kid took but it's gnarly.

Ill season for O&D.

We both been jacked up a long time now. Olive had to get unpleasantness removed (she doesn't want to talk about it, please don't ask her) and i have a herniated disk and sciatica. This cost us a lot of work but it's all part of life. Before that mess we were jacked up from bike injuries, death in the family and mental stresses from plague and custody court. Usually it's one or the other who is in a bad way and the other steers the ship. This year it was both of us. We are both dedicated to getting better. We spend a long time every day working our way to being well enough to do gigs. Somehow teamwork and adrenaline is seeing us thru. I'm posting this because our social media has too much illusion. We only break out the camera when something amazing is happening so it looks like we are getting nothing but net. That isn't intentional, just the illusion that comes with internet. At the doc shop yesterday they told me that usually a patient who walks in with internet knowledge isn't helpful but this time the fact that I studied was a good thing. They said i was making a great come-back because i looked up what excersises to do. My back calamity is the worst, most sustained pain I ever endured in my life. But there is always a silver lining in clown camp. We aren't gonna be defined by our problems, we want to show our son how we overcome them. I love how seeing me writhe in pain prompted our son to step up his game. He has been helping out a lot, doing chores, taking himself to school and showing empathy. This isn't inspiring me to get better LOL. Also going thru the torment inspired a whole notebook of lyrics for my new band Sciatitallica!

Cooking this morning with this Sciatica and scewy back situation.

I don't think i have ever been this hurt, this bad for this long. WOW I was a stunt man/sideshowbclown for a long time and hardly got scratched now i get wiped out by a truck chair? Anyhoo, looks like the worst is behind me (just North of my left cheek). We did a big show late this afternoon. Most of my day was about prepairing for that one hour. I don't weed or pain pill at all before any show so it was all about ice, rest, stretching and wife magic.

At the show Uncle Adrenaline was there to see us thru. I don't think anyone knew that both of us are jacked up these days. Thankfully it was an amazing show that generated the rent bread that we really needed. Next step for me is an MRI. My appointment isn't for a while. Acupuncture is also in the cards. I was trying to think of something I could swallow for the MRI people to find. Something goofy to give them a laff and story to tell forever. Like a pair of handcuffs, Banjo strings or a herd of tardigrades. I may not know how an MRI works.

Sorry I forgot your birthday song.
