I noticed fresh cement outside a high school at 3:29pm. HAHAHA!

That's a rare and delightful state of affairs. Is it possible for several patches of wet cement to remain pristine after being passed by hundreds of kids?

Bell rung, I found my son and by the time i got back to the bus stop this nature documentary happened.

I love the weather this time of year.
You can walk down the street getting drenched with rain while the streets on either side are having a funshiney day.
Try not to take it personal.

Olive made our 14 y.o. go on a bike ride with her.

After 5 weeks in our house we decided he is required to go on a tallbike ride with her. This is how he made it clear that he didn't want to catch any viruses.

I don't blame him. I have seen the video games he plays. Mutants, viruses and even angry villagers are colorfully vivid in those displays. Even the ride was like a video game. They were avoiding other people like the game Frogger.

Kid:"fuk", Parent:"It's truck, tell O&D you want a truck balloon.

Kid:"fuk", Parent:"It's truck, tell O&D you want a truck balloon.",
K:"fuk"
P:" it's truck!"
 k:"fuk pees"
p:" say truck, it's a truck, cmon, use your words."
k:"fuk, fuk, fuk, FUK!(now crying) FUUUUUUK!"
Cafe denizens are starting to look up from laptops.
(exasperated) P:" (to Olive) please, my son would like a truckin fuk please." I
t's a riot hearing kids get language together.
What they are saying and what we hear are very different.
Our favorite is when a kid asked for a "Taco Doctor".
He was asking for a helicopter.
We all cried a little inside when he outgrew that phrase.

Imagine how unreasonable a 3 y.o. is.

This Dude. Imagine how unreasonable a 3 y.o. is. Not the part where they throw a fit because something is the wrong color. I'm talking about the laughing at a joke that isn't funny part. "knock knock, who's there?, "bannannapumpkin!" That's my best 3 yo joke. No idea why it works but it kills. Imagine the joy of the laugh that non-sequitur gets and that is how one of our fans rolls 24-7. Pure joy and he is also a huge O&D fan.

now we gotta build this bike.

My man recently gifted us this portrait. He actually made an entire O&D comic book. I'm so impressed that a three year old did this, We get a lot of fan art. I think this is some of the best skill I ever seen. Can't wait to see what this Dude does when he grows up. I asked what the circles under Olive were. Everyone in the room scolded me "Those are balloons!" I didn't see that right away, I thought the kid somehow found my "too hot for internet" pics of us. Anyhoo, I'm super impressed with this artwork. I would make it our official Tshirt but unfortunately people are more likely to ask us for a free shirt than buy one so we end up folding every shirt run.

I gotta watch what I say.

I gotta watch what I say.
We were in Montevilla park making balloons for some kids. I asked, "Ya want me to make yer Dad a sword too?" They look at each other, "That is our Uncle.
Our Dad got taken by ICE."
The kids came off very brave and articulate. I got to stay my emotions as I hear the matter-of-fact story about how Dad came over years ago. Got a job and family going.
One day the family got a knock at the door that separated everyone. Instead of bringing the guy into Uncle Sam's fold, ICE created many more hardships.
I pondered: What is the bigger crime?
Later, I saw the kid throwing up gang signs.
Some of the worst gangs on the planet came after primitive policies like everything coming out of Trump's face; all because people prefer voting for cruelty rather than stewardship.
I found out at our show today that there are a lot of places where children are being detained here in Oregon, detained for being from the wrong country.
We would love to get in there and help them, to cheer them up.
Sometimes we gotta watch what we say. A couple times kids have freaked out when we do a finger counting song because some kids don't have 10 fingers and in front of us is the first time it has come up.
Our kinna clowns are allllll up in people's strifes. I guess that is why we are here.

Thank you Lars.

After our toddler rock show today (at Know thy Food), we were hanging out with some of the folks who hadn't left yet.
Lars from next door brought out a flat of mushrooms to gift us and our fans. He sells berries and other organic Oregon grown foods. That was very nice of him.
We have been doing this show at Know Thy Food for 8 years now. Good times.
If you want to get into some farm fresh veg and other goodies please stop into Know Thy Food.
They support parents, agriculture and of course clowns.  http://knowthyfood.coop/

The second woman to ever ride my bike is also the first.

My bike recently got a handlebar upgrade.
While getting used to it, we dropped in on our Friend Rauchelle.
Her kids got to cheer her on as she mounted and rode my bike again!
Well played.
This is how you ride my bike like a boss!

Fly to pie ride, rad Dad bikes and Portlandia

We met at a Portland park for a little kid ride. Our delightfully costumed friends were waiting for us as we showed up. Olive's bike had a busted tire so we ended up being a bit late (sorry friends). As we waited for others to show up a smiling fellow approached and greeted us " Hi Dingo!". I soon found out he was a crew member from Portlandia. They were taping right behind us. He invited us over to say hi.

They were taping a dark themed scene. They told us the plot but it's not our story to tell so I will let them tell it. Great seeing our friends and lots of Portland crew employed with out of state green-backs, thats what I like to see.

I went ahead to set the show up and Olive led the tiny ride.
Lots of folks turned out for the show so it was a lively event over at the Pie Shop. It was so busy I forgot to get one of the most important parts of the day....I forgot to eat some pie. LOL

This wonderful rig was getting it's first solo ride today. It's designed for disaster relief. If something like a natural disaster or anything that upsets the infrastructure of P-town this will be one of the only things on the road. I have seen enough of these things around to have some confidence. I remember during a big freeze one year, my spin bike was the only thing that could move over the ice and snow burms.

They let me ride this and it was challenging. It handles a lot like a boat. You an't feel a turn right away and it feels like floating. I almost crashed but it wouldn't let me. The trick to this monster is to be going pretty fast. Then it purred like a kitten.

then this happened

I love Portland free boxes. So much of the coolest stuff I ever brought home came from random boxes of stuff people put out. Today I found t...
