We met a freshly single, "single serving friend"

After our show yesterday it got interesting. It was a long ride home. Olive's leg was sore so we stopped to walk the bikes a bit. A lovely woman noticed us and started waving. "You did my kids party ages ago I must have a selfie. They are gonna freak out that you came by." We stopped, took pics then chatted.

We talked about her kids, every animal show owns, every animal we own and then her recent situation where her huzbin cheated on her with her bestie and ended her marriage. She told us the whole country music song plot.

Someone wanted her life and seduced her man. Wow.

We shared our frustrations about family court. So there we were talking and sharing with someone we only met once a long time ago. We got emotional, hugged, laughed. We had a deep "single serving" friendship in that moment. Her wounds were fresh, our are deep. There was a lot to talk about regarding how to keep the kids in good shape when families fracture.

Then a tall handsome man with a Spuds McKenzie dog walked by. He said hi and went next door. "Hi Tom" we talked a little more and I got an idea. "Hey Friend. Are you single now? How about that neighbor guy? He doesn't have to be my cup of tea for me to know that he is fine. That's a good looking man with a novelty dog. How about dating that drinka water?"

She said "Oh yeah I'm totally shagging him. Keeping it light though. I been through enough.." We took off waving and smiling. She thanked her two emotional support clowns.

luv the pants

It's awkward to walk through a grocery store with food on a dish. I like awkward. We stopped into a grocery store for a couple of sandwiches. As we walked I was eavesdropping on a couple who were in a bad way (because I'm nosy...FOR SCIENCE!)
Then I had to have Olive reinterpret their argument to me, a simple time traveler with no smart phone and no clue.
"Why was she so furious that her dude had an Ap on his phone?"
Olive: "Because it's Tinder."
That opened up a deep rabbit hole.
By the time my food was gone I was still clarifying "So there is zero reason for anyone who is married (and not in a polyamourus or open marriage) to have that romance Ap?" Olive: "Yes, that would be problematic."
I keep thinking maybe folks would download the ap to "lover shop" for friends and family. She said that wasn't a thing. Great lunch convo though.
Glad lunch turned around. Shortly after picking up those awkward plates an older gent leaned into the back of my neck and said "Luv the pants."
I couldn't enjoy the compliment because his actions gave me road rage. I wasn't hip to having my space invaded but I had to weigh dropping my lunch against the satisfaction of freaking out.
By the time I got over myself I wasn't mad any longer and the dude had long gone. :)

Yesterday after our show, someone's grandma Noreen gifted me a bag of 6. one inch square pot brownies.

She warned me that they are strong and she only needs a fourth of a square to get a head change.
So I got home and ate all of them.
Not because they were cannabis, because they were delicious brownies.
I been partaking (in the devil's lettuce) every day since aught' 1985 so I have a bit of a tolerance.
It wasn't gonna be a big deal until Olive flipped the script.

I thought I was done doing anything useful for the day.
Then Olive approached me with a handful of towels and a paper bag full of stuff.
"Hey I need you to give me a bikini wax."
What an ordeal that turned out to be.
I have done this a few times, it comes with lots of giggles but it's never actually pleasant. "Operation:unmentionables" came off well.
It was just a mighty surreal emotional rollercoaster.
