Wedlocks: Olive Rootbeer and Dingo Dizmal wedding, pre prep prep

Rocking an Elvis wedding on Gandhi's budget requires lots of D.I.Y. Many cantankerous builds going on. Mostly all in our little apartment.
I'm not hip to "the disposable items" culture but that said I truly love building things that only need to last as long as they are needed. Normally cardboard and cement aren't used as the only building materials. It's like building a vehicle that only needs to work long enough to hit the ramp. No need for wiper fluid in that rig.
 rehearsal at the theater.

Doing the rehearsing and the blocking for a wedding fiasco. This is my dear friend who only got better looking with age Gordon Gaude', doing lighting,

Olive's ring is a spinner pounded out by a nice lady somewhere in the Oregon.
Our wedding officiant Rich Mackin will be preforming the nuptials (dressed as Santa). It will be his 10th wedding and my first legal one. MrRich Mackin has been in my life a long time and his New England punk rock style tells me we play by similar playbooks and his voice and opinions echo mine. He usually charges $500 but since it's easy and we are friends he just charged me with fulfilling his potluck duty by bringing a dish in his name. Done! Thanks Rich.
He tells me he is inspired but not directed by Jesus...and luckily she was there today when we went to Mr. Mackin's home to fill out paperwork.

Maya and my sis mixin concrete.
Nathan Bennett also on lighting confers with Brynn and Olive.
Everyone is nervous and stresswed out. Been that way for weeks; but we are still satisfide that we did all we could to rock this wedding into the future.
Wish us luck!

Wedlocks: Olive Rootbeer and Dingo Dizmal wedding: The belly of the beast

,Went into the eye of the belly of the beast today (DMV).
I driver's test was cheaper than an ID so I went ahead and failed a driving test before buying an id anyway. That finished off my bank account. Got all ID-ed up (no more feral clown) and went to get a marriage licence. It was surreal as a movie. Cubicles as far as we could see. I looked at Olive and said "I think the queen bee is going to know we exist now. Olive turned the solemn mood around in there by being so over the top giddy about getting married.
We left them all waving and smiling.
It's great hanging out with my family from Texas. Our little place is full of folks building things and my peeps are making lots of friends. Maya is mixing concrete, Martha delivered some pinata toys and my Mom and sister are landing lots of helpful hands. There is a touch of the customary culture shock. They have already given Walmart money, they like junk food and react to rain like it's made of fire. Still great to have sharp, loyal family members around who are ready to do whatever it takes to make the wedding fly. They got to see two of our shows today.

Big thank you to the fellahs who rocked my Bachelor party last night.

It takes a special group to party with someone as boring as I. Lots of typical B.P. fare isn't my cup of tea so we went to Wonderland. We played arcade games and then saw the movie Guardians of the Universe. Great time! I loved that every face was a guy that I have know a long time, am happy are still kicking and they all have sleeves full of stripes that they earned over the years here in Puddletown. Thank you Lyle Kopnicky, Wes Sixeas, Brian J Scrivner, Jon Dutch, Brian Sysfail, Ken Southerland, Carl Larson and introducing Spencer T Dee. Thanks guys I had a blast.

I walked home alone. I wanted to take a last walk and reflect on my life before a chapter change.
I thought about a lot but was soon distracted when the song "Phantom of the Opera" from Iron maiden crept into my head. I had to them remember every note of the entire album.

I was just crossing a busy street. I noticed a silver haired lady hesitating and not crossing.

Luckily I had my super hero outfit on under my overalls.
I bravely crossed back, tipped my hat and said "Pardon me Madam,
I noticed you not crossing, may I be of service?"
She looked me up and down and eventually said,
"No thanks dumb-ass, I'm happy to wait for the green light like you should have done...and don't call me Madam, I'm only 54".
After a short staring contest i politely said. "Your welcome
" before flying away to a nearby rooftop to sob like a baby.

Fun Tue. 3pm gig at the Forun cafe.

Olive's bike rolled over a tack so I had to ghost ride her ride home. She only had to stand on the road a few moments before she got picked up by friends. The original plan was for her to run home. She is really good at running and ya can't beat a good workout to crush the cold.

Breaking out.

Epic tune from my youth that inspired me to venture forward making the long haul into the unknown.
My personal motivational gospel music needed to be secular and very technical.
This fit the bill perfectly.
I have had ignorant stints and some bouts with superstition but I still always have been the quintessential space age human. I see things as they are. No filter.

I was born Aug. 1969 right when mankind was touching the moon and burning the Earth.
The latter part put me at odds with most of humanity.
It took me decades to develop this swell "tude" I got going today.
As a child; religion and superstition never took as I had too much information not to see the most plausible explanation to the things around me.
As a teen, in church I recall being frustrated that I had more historical knowledge than most of the adults.
I remember thinking "Why are they concentrating on the Hebrew crowd control stories, Bedouin, camp tales and Assyrian legends when they should be discussing the most important part of the iron age...The Romans.
I thought church should be mostly about the policies, politics, tactics and discoveries of the ancient Romans and the comic book parts should have been left as side notes.
The adults were incorrect about so many things it was terrifying. I couldn't bare to see them going full speed ahead on bad science, hubris and manipulative, spiritual snake oil.
Everyone around me seemed to be in some way assaulting the planet and or each other.
I was one of those feral creatures on the chopping block.
I had to escape or perish into the abyss of the hypnotized population. I was facing death, imprisonment or worse... groping around stupefied by a lullaby.
I come from a place that is so remote that it took a lot of preparation, effort and several tries  just to escape the vorTexas.
That is why this song rang so true to me.
But as all epic realities transpire, breaking out of my homeland only deposited me in the event horizon of the next big adventure. It wasn't easy but future struggles would forever pale in comparison to the initial lift off.

I love Portland free boxes. So much of the coolest stuff I ever brought home came from random boxes of stuff people put out. Today I found t...
