Olive just got home emotionally wrecked.

Olive just got home emotionally wrecked. OMG Dig this. Olive went to help family in the burbs. It was night and raining by the time she was heading home. Right on Burnside she noticed the cars ahead of her swerving out of the way of an obstruction. She thought it may be trash of some kind.

By the time she got to the corner she saw what looked like a pile of junk. She looked closer and noticed it was a lady in a wheelchair. The lady had fallen over and Olive heard her muffled voice screaming her head off "Please help me, I'm being crushed!"

Olive reversed the car, flipped on the hazard lights and ran to the lady. The wheelchair was 200 lb.s and on top of her along with her other possessions. We haven't hugged our kids or touched anyone this whole time but Olive jumped into it. She couldn't get the lady out. "My seatbelt" Olive finally opened the belt latch but said the lady was still somehow tangled around the legs in wire. They struggled together in the cold rain.

Soon a man with cerebral palsy made it to them and he also started helping untie the woman. They got her separated from her wheelchair. A couple of guys appeared and began dragging the wheelchair to the curb. Olive (wearing 2 masks) yelled "Hey fellas, thanks for taking care of that, can you help us get her out of the road?" They did. More people showed up, someone called an ambulance. Olive stayed with the woman comforting her as the others left. Then the cops showed up. Olive asked if the woman felt safe around the cops, She did, the cops were nice. Olive stayed, standing in the rain. The ambulance showed up and our hero bid farewell to the lady who was very grateful. Then she was alone in the rain watching our cars lights blinking.

After that she drove home sobbing. She was thinking about the horror of the woman alone screaming in the dark rainy street. Nobody helped her for a long time, she could have been killed. By the time Olive made it home she was overcome. I cheerfully ran to the door to greet her and found her on her knees quaking. She said "Nobody died, don't worry, I just had a hard night." I took her wet clothes and then met her in the shower to be a shoulder for her to cry on. Olive cares. She is feeling much better now.
